Eastern and South African leaders immediately applied for a ceasefire in East Congo. The rebels are threatening to overthrow the Congo government, but the leaders have called for their Congo’s president to have a direct conversation.
Congo President Felix Tasidi attended the summit in Tanzania City Dar S Salam through video conferencing. He said earlier that he would never talk to the Rwanda -backed M3 rebels, because he thinks that the rebels are working to use Congo’s mineral property.
